Students presentations of the projects for Digital transformation in agriculture at UDG

Erasmus+ VIRAL – students of the Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies at the University of Donja Gorica, within the course Management of Information Technologies, presented their completed projects for the Final Exam on the subject of Digital Transformation in Agriculture. The idea of the projects is for the student to research the state-of-the-art in the chosen field and to identify and select technology in order to make a theoretical and/or practical study on a concrete use case. Students actively used the VIRAL training courses and materials to learn about ICT in agriculture and as inspiration for their work. We highlight projects that demonstrated the practical implementation of an IoT system for greenhouse control based on Arduino sensor node and a Cloud IoT platform programmed by the students themselves, a system for monitoring hives with a focus on monitoring temperature and supplements in all beehives on a bee farm, a system for monitoring the health of cows based on the application of AI technology, the practical implementation of irrigation systems using Arduino sensor nodes and the IoT Cloud platform, the application of drones for protection and spraying, and few e-commerce solutions for farms. Over 40 students were enrolled in VIRAL courses and participated in project implementation.
