As a result of the realization of the VIRAL project and connecting partner institutions, the company “Agrovoće” from Banja Luka for the first time became a member of the consortium with a new project application on call within the European project thanks to colleagues from the University of Maribor,
The basic idea of the project is the development of a new, smart autonomous robot which, thanks to numerous sensors, could independently perform certain activities in orchards and vineyards. Since the company “Agrovoće” is engaged in fruit production, the role in the project is to contribute to the design and testing of the platform, and presentation and dissemination of results. If the project is approved, for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, one company will be a partner in the field of research into the possibilities of applying information and communication technologies in agriculture. The eventual application of the robot and the demonstration of its capabilities can be of great importance for other companies to revise their views on the importance of information and communication technologies in agriculture. The results of the competition are expected by the end of November. Best of luck!
