A two-day working meeting and workshop within the VIRAL project started today at the premises of IEC Tehnopolis.
In addition to the representatives of Tehnopolis, there are eighteen representatives of project partners from Montenegro and the region: INTERA Technology Park, Innovation Center Banja Luka, University of Banja Luka, University of Bijeljina, University of Mostar, Dzemal Bijedic University, University of Tuzla, University Donja Gorica, Plantation 13. Jul; while some partners from the University of Tuzla, the University of Maribor, and the Western Balkans Institute will follow the meetings online.
After the executive director of IEC Tehnopolis, Ratko Batakovic, welcomed all participants, Aleksandar Janicic, coordinator of the Center for Entrepreneurship Development and Project Management, addressed the audience. Aleksandar presented how Tehnopolis has become a center for the development of entrepreneurship in Montenegro, and a recognizable and reliable partner not only at the national but also at the regional and international level. He emphasized the importance of such events, which, in addition to the realization of project activities that are in focus, have significant value when it comes to networking and generating ideas for some new projects that will contribute to the development of an entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystem throughout the region.
Professor Miljan Cvetkovic from the University of Banja Luka presented the current status of activities within the VIRAL project, focusing on the work packages WP2 and WP4, and especially on the sequence of steps in the implementation of EXPO event.
The EXPO event will be organized in November and will be a kind of employment fair, which will aim to promote the integration of the academic and business sectors. Agricultural companies will present their areas of activity, and students will be involved so that they can reach potential cooperation through networking.
In addition to the project meeting and participation in the workshop, the project partners had the opportunity today to get acquainted with the human and infrastructure capacities of IEC Tehnopolis.
The event was organized through the VIRAL project, which is co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus + program. The project aims to import and improve cooperation between faculties, students, and the business sector through the use of ICT solutions in the agricultural sector.
