In May 2021, more than 60 young people had the opportunity to see the importance of the practical application of knowledge acquired through university education by participating at three hackathons organized in Banja Luka, Mostar and Nikšić. Through hackathons, organized through the VIRAL project co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus + program, students worked for 48 hours to solve problems faced by companies from the agricultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. One year after the first hackathon, the project partners are proud to announce a new edition of the VIRAL hackathon!
This year’s regional hackathon is organized with the support of the Agency for Economic Development of the City of Prijedor (PREDA), and will be held from Thursday, May 12th until Saturday, May 14th 2022, in their premises. Again, the participants will work for 48 hours, with the help of experienced mentors, on the development of software and hardware solutions for the challenges of the agricultural sector. Through the program, they will have the opportunity to hear different speakers and successful entrepreneurs and learn more about presentation skills. The teams will present their solutions to an expert commission that will select the best ones and reward them with valuable prizes.
Hackathons have proven to be a great tool in recent years to strengthen students’ skills, learning, networking and socializing, and this is where some of the key reasons to sign up lie. Applications will be open from Thursday, April 21st. until Sunday, April 24th, 2022 until 23:59. Until then all those interested can see the atmosphere that prevailed at last year’s competitions in u Banjoj Luci, Mostaru i Nikšiću.
