Applications for the VIRAL hackathon will start soon

IEC Tehnopolis takes you on the best adventure of the spring – the VIRAL hackathon, which will give you the opportunity to test your knowledge and creativity and win valuable money prizes!

If you are a student, and you have knowledge and experience in information and communication technologies (ICT) and agriculture, and a team that can answer the challenge, here is an opportunity for you!

The VIRAL hackathon will focus on the application of information technologies in agriculture through the development of software/hardware solutions for the challenges that agricultural enterprises are facing in. In Montenegro agriculture is still heavily reliant on manual production, while available technical and technological solutions are underused. Solutions created on the VIRAL hackathon will significantly facilitate the operation of agricultural enterprises, as well as open new opportunities for progress.

The hackathon will take place from 17 to 19 May in IEC Tehnopolis and will last continuously for 48 hours, after which the teams will present their solutions to the jury at the Demo Day on May 19.

What are the rules of the hackathon?

At the beginning of the VIRAL hackathon, all participants will be introduced to the problems for which they need to create a solution, and the focus is on two topics:

  1. Optimization of irrigation systems, including specifications of certain plant species;.
  2. Measurement of workforce performance.

The solution can be both hardware and software, and teams will also have the support of TechLab Tehnopolis and be able to use a 3D printer to build a prototype.

Mentors from different fields will work with teams to support finding the best solution to defined problems.

The participants will be provided with food and refreshments during the VIRAL hackathon, and a relaxing zone within CODE Hub Niksic space where they will be available to spend their break time.

Detailed rules of the VIRAL hackathon will be presented by the organizers at the very beginning, and yours is only to accept the challenge and bring good energy!
