ICT connects producers with customers – platform “Countryside products”

At the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska, the representatives of the project “VIRAL” took part in the promotion of internet platform “Countryside products”. The main goal of the platform is that small agricultural producers from all over Republika Srpska can present domestic agricultural products to potential buyers. The project was supported by the relevant ministry, and the financial resources for its implementation were provided from the RCDP Rural Competitiveness Development Program, which is financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development – IFAD. Producers who are users of this project, including Draško Bašić, a vegetable producer from the Banja Luka area, believe that this platform is very important for small producers, especially in the newly created business conditions. Minister Pašalić expressed his belief that this platform will encourage the production and marketing of domestic agricultural products. The platform is initially intended for individual agricultural producers who produce products on their own property, process and sell them fresh or processed, regardless of whether they are small or large, said Dragan Vuckovic, project manager for the development of competitiveness in rural areas. The technical details of using the platform were presented by Mr. Zeljko Dzafic, a representative of the software company “Technetis” from Banja Luka. Bearing in mind that cooperation with participants in the agricultural sector is one of the most important goals of the “VIRAL” project, the creation of this platform opens new opportunities for cooperation with the relevant ministry, but also with producers of agricultural products.
